Yes 2020 may have thrown the recruitment industry into turmoil, but now it is clearer than ever where we need focusing our efforts, so we can come back better in the New Year.

So, with that, we thought we would put together a few New Year Resolutions that we believe all Recruiters should consider when entering 2021.

Our New Year resolutions should make us feel positive about the future, and this resolution does just that. This year has pushed us out of our comfort zones and allowed us to pursue different avenues, so why do we not allow ourselves to become more creative in our recruiting methods? After all, we do not know the possibilities if we choose not to explore them. Change can be positive, and recruitment should reflect that. So, whether that is giving a virtual office tour, trialling interactive gaming with staff, or even hiring through recruitment speed dating, if we explore our creativity, we can allow our candidates to do the same.

 

Promote Values and Company Culture 

With well over 60% of candidates reporting that a company whose culture and values match their own determines on whether they apply for a vacancy, promoting your brand, culture and company values ensure that you appeal to top talent in the marketplace. Encouraging your current employees to provide testimonials for your site and leave reviews on websites such as Glassdoor and Google can help to boost your social representation and in turn make it easier for prospective candidates to identify your ambitions. 

 

Provide a Clear and Decisive Timeline of the Hiring Process

73% of job seekers say the process of looking for a job is one of the most stressful events in their life. So, let us not make it any harder than it needs to be. Creating a positive candidate experience by ensuring all candidates are provided with a clear and decisive timeline of the application status will not only greatly improve the overall experience, but also improve your reputation as an employer.

 

Explore and Utilise Recruitment Technology

Take the time to fully understand your process and the improvements that can be made with the use of technology. In such a technology-driven market, it is safe to say that there is an abundance of recruitment technology in the market to cater and assist with all parts of your recruitment process. Whether it be Applicant Tracking Systems, On-Boarding Technology, AI Platforms or Video Interviewing Software, there is something to help you streamline and improve all parts of your process.
