Position: Waking Night Residential Child Care Worker

Location: Willow Vue Children's Home, 75 Crossley Street, Gorton, Manchester M18 8BD (fixed location)

Salary Range: Grade 4 £20,444 to £22,129 (Bar at £21,695) per annum, plus flexibility payment

Working Hours: 14 nights over a 28 day (4 week) period. 10 hour shifts, 21.45pm-7.45am. To work as part of a rota, including weekends and Bank Holidays as required. May be subject to change at short notice.

Qualification required: Diploma Level 3 in working with Children and Young People in Residential Care or its equivalent. Or be willing and able to undertake the Diploma Level 3 in working with Children and young people within 6 months of being appointed.

This is a role for a Full time Waking Night Residential Child Care Worker to work within a 6 bedded residential children's home.

You will need to be emotionally and physically fit to work with young people age 11 - 17 who are emotionally challenging and have various complex needs. You will need to be able to establish and maintain relationships with the young people to challenge their existing patterns of behaviours. You will create a culture and ethos within the home in which the needs of the young people are paramount, and they are encouraged to develop, mature and grow. In addition, you will work proactively with appropriate stakeholders to assess the individual’s needs and ensure positive outcomes.

Willow Vue currently has an Ofsted rating of 'Good' with 'Outstanding' features. The team works proactively in maintaining a high level of care for the young people. The team are consistent in their approach whilst working together in order to provide the best possible care to the young people they work with. Willow Vue have high aspirations for the young people who live in the home. The service is committed to the ongoing personal development of the staff to meet the needs of the young people.
