We are looking for experienced Social Workers to join us on our journey. We have a range of vacancies across different teams, including:

Integrated Neighbourhood Teams - established community teams bringing together social care, community health, mental health and primary care.

Multi Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) - this is a responsible role in supporting Manchester's statutory duties for Safeguarding Adults. MASH Social Workers work with complex cases in accordance with statutory responsibilities. These responsibilities are deployed in accordance with national and local policies and procedures to secure positive outcomes for citizens. Social Workers manage safeguarding risk effectively, working within a multi agency environment, providing a professional social work service.

Learning Disability Teams - specialist teams based with Learning Disability Health Professionals providing a holistic approach to citizens.

As a social worker working for the Council, you will get 1/2 a day protected time per quarter (2 days per year) to support your reflection and CPD for Social Work England.  We have developed Communities of Practice and various forums to share information and good practice.  We have an active Adult Social Care Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic forum which provide a safe space and support for our Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic staff.

You will be employed by Manchester City Council and will work as part of the Manchester Local Care Organisation - the city’s pioneering new health and care organisation - working in integrated teams across NHS community health and mental health, primary care and social care to improve the lives of Manchester people. All MLCO staff are employed by one of our partner organisations and deployed into MLCO.

The post is covered by the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (amended in 2013). This role is required to work in CQC registered care and residential home settings. As per recent legislation, you will need to evidence that you have had a full course of COVID-19 vaccination/ medically exempt to work in these settings and therefore undertake the full duties of this role.
