Due to growth in our business, a strong commitment to our customer care standards, health & safety aims, environmental and sustainability agenda, we have a number of vacancies within Our Direct Labour Operation (DLO).

As a Paradigm Technician working for our DLO, we’ll supply you with a fully equipped hybrid van (no insurance renewals or services to concern yourself with as we do that) and a fuel card to ensure you can get around easily. We’ll provide you with an electronic tablet where your you can see your scheduled jobs and access our intranet for the latest company news. You’ll also get a mobile ‘phone, work clothing and PPE and we’ll aim to book your jobs in your local area where possible. You will be the face of Paradigm and will deliver a quality service to our customers in their homes, so a friendly and polite manner is as important as competence and high standards of work in your given trade.

You will complete day to day roofing maintenance work, unsupervised and in accordance with all Paradigm’s policies and procedures. Construct safe and durable roofs and fix damaged parts such as, broken shingles. You’ll install all materials in good order and set up systems, such as insulation and vapor barriers. You should have the ability to use hand tools, such as shingle cutters and roofing hatchets, and stand on ladders and scaffolds for sustained periods of time. You’ll also know how to handle materials (e.g. wood, asphalt) for different roofing styles and tasks.

Role specific requirements:

• Relevant City & Guilds Part 1 & 2, NVQ2 or relevant experience
• Apprentice trained or substantial experience as a Roofer
• Experience/Knowledge to complete roofing maintenance work, being skilled in Flat or Pitched Roofing or both.
• Repair roofs using various materials and tools
• Deliver projects within timeline 
• Inspect damages and estimate costs of labour
• Repair or replace broken materials
• The ability to carry out additional day to day maintenance like minor Carpentry would be beneficial.
