Salary Range: Grade 8 £37,261 to £41,496 (Bar at £40,478) per annum
Working Hours: 35 hours per week, Mon-Fri
Contract Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Qualification: Educated to Degree level or equivalent in Quantity Surveying (or other relevant subject) and have a suitable and demonstrable experience in a similar position within a Highways / Transport / Engineering environment

The Highways Service are recruiting for two number experienced candidates who have relevant commercial experience across highway maintenance contracts and services.
This is a great opportunity to join a dynamic Service within the Council delivering highway maintenance programmes on behalf of the city to contribute to the ongoing growth, delivery, and development of Manchester.
This position is within the Highways Network Management team, the role focuses on the delivery of Essential maintenance contracts managing external contractors who are undertaking works and services on our behalf, combined annual budgets circa £6m.
A key aim is to ensure commercial responsibility within the service areas to lead the commercial elements of allocated maintenance projects for end-to-end service delivery to shape the city in line with the Greater Manchester Transport Strategy 2040.
The role holder will support internal and external stakeholders as we look to form effective partnerships for the coming years.
For this role:
You must be educated to degree level or equivalent in quantity surveying (or other relevant subject) and have a suitable and demonstrable experience in a similar position within Highways / Transport / Engineering environment and be able to evidence qualifications and experience.

This role involves blended/hybrid working. You may be able to work from home or remotely some of the time, or for certain tasks or limited days or hours.
