Pride in Place Relationship Manager - NR7 0DU

Job Type

Project Management

Are you passionate about working with local people to improve their lives and opportunities?

Role Snapshot…

The Government’s flagship agenda of ‘Levelling Up’ speaks in terms of both addressing inequality between local places, whilst improving opportunity in all places.  Delivery of this agenda requires a strong focus on place; local solutions to local problems.  As district councils we believe we are best placed to help understand and enable and support our communities and local population.

Working in a matrix structure with all our service areas, this role will help us to think differently about the way we deliver services, the way that we engage and empower the local community, and to work closely alongside our Councillors and Town and Parish Councils to enable delivery of agendas as diverse as developing community infrastructure, leadership and our green agenda..

What you could be part of…

An exciting opportunity has arisen at South Norfolk and Broadland Councils to be a part of our One Team supporting two councils. We have the opportunity, to rethink the way we do business over a scale of circa 250,000 population and 120,000 households.  A fixed term role is required to work directly to the Director of People and Communities to develop our agenda and delivery of ‘Pride in Place’.

This role will take the successful candidate out into the community to build a new and stronger relationship with Town and Parish Councils to look at ways of community empowerment and instilling a sense of pride in place.

Working at the Council enables you to be part of an organisation which is proud to deliver high-quality, customer focussed services. Our success comes from us being commercially astute and business-like. Continuous improvement is also vital, and we challenge ourselves to develop new and innovative ways to improve the services that make a real difference to people’s lives.

We are looking for…

We are looking for a high caliber individual who has a passion for working with the local community and a skillset to both develop relationships and the creativity to help shape an emerging and exciting agenda.  The role will take the successful candidate across our range of local services, working alongside service leads, senior managers and politicians to effectively meet local priorities and develop new service models which will help to reshape the way we think about local service delivery.

You must have…

  • Experience of leading and managing teams in a matrix manner in a complex environment.
  • To be a skilled communicator, able to explain our work, influence and build support both internally and externally including working with partners as appropriate.
  • A proven track record of strategic development and programme delivery in a complex and political environment and gaining buy in with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • To show evidence of continued professional development in a relevant field.
  • To be commercially focused and results driven.
  • Strong organisational skills with project management experience thus enabling the meeting of deadlines.

What’s in it for you…
