Are you an experienced play leader interested in strategic development?
This is an opportunity to join an experienced and supportive team at a dynamic and well-regarded Tottenham-based charity. Markfield is an inclusive community hub where people can play, socialize, and get information and support. We run services for disabled children, siblings, and their families.
We are seeking a highly motivated and well-organised person to manage the team running the program of term-time and holiday play and leisure services for disabled children and young people, based at our community centre – a Grade II listed building with a huge adventure playground in Markfield Park. Our services enable disabled, deaf, and autistic children to have fun, take risks, and play an active role in their community alongside their peers.
You will be responsible for the strategic management of the children & youth program, including developing new strategies to make these services financially viable long-term, in the context of declining funding from local authority sources.
This is a challenging and varied role: you will need experience working with disabled children/young people in play or youth work, as well as experience of managing staff and budgets, and ideally you will have a Level 3 or higher qualification in play/ childcare/ youth work or a related field.
In return:
We offer 25 days a year pro rata, rising to 30 days pro rata after three years’ service as well as a 5% contributory pension scheme.
