Learner Support Officer
Salary: £25,000 - £30,000
Hours: Full Time (35 hours) per week
This role sits within the Community Education and Training team, working to support our learners to access and stay enrolled in our wide range of adult learning provisions.
This role is responsible for ensuring all learners who require it can access comprehensive support. With a particular focus on learners with additional needs, you will work with colleagues and tutors to implement strategies and support plans for individuals and groups, to aid their learning, support attendance, retention, progression, achievement and enhance their educational experience. This includes monitoring learners’ attendance and contacting them via phone, email or arranging a meeting in person, to check if additional support is needed (including pastoral support).
You will work with our Adult Safeguarding Lead to support safeguarding cases across our departments, including keeping Safeguarding records, making referrals and building a database of local support services available to learners and other service users.
We are looking for a dedicated individual who is passionate about supporting learners to ensure they have the best opportunity to thrive on their learning journey.
Your work will include contributing to the organisation of our termly learners’ forum to celebrate achievement and attending events in the community to publicise our work. A strong understanding of how your team sits within the wider work of the organisation and building strong relationships internally, as well as using your excellent communication skills to work within the wider community, is essential to the role.
The successful applicant will have experience of working with vulnerable individuals or groups, be committed to Safeguarding, have excellent administration skills, be flexible and excited about being at the heart of an exceptionally busy team committed to providing an excellent service to High Trees’ users.
