Role Snapshot…
This is an enjoyable interactive role which is essential to support the team’s specialist services. The role will encompass a wide range of skills and responsibilities. You will assist customers seeking help with their housing, helping resolve the customers issues where possible or ensuring they are referred to another service quickly if needed.
This apprenticeship role includes studying towards the Level 3 Housing and Property Management apprenticeship qualification of which 20% of your time will be spent working towards completing this.

What you’ll be doing…
Working in partnership with an experienced officer you will:
- Respond to client enquiries via telephone, mail and electronically
- Progress cases, from application to final outcomes and evaluation, alongside the collection of any additional required information from a range of sources
- Assist with interviewing clients, undertake housing need and homeless assessments within statutory and policy frameworks, provide advice, ongoing support and maintain client contact
- Keep excellent records of customer contacts and outcomes while ensuring that information is recorded and shared within GDPR rules
- Support colleagues in the housing and benefits team with administrative work such as scanning documents, updating case notes and maintaining the housing register
- Assist with carrying out home visits or visits to other relevant sites
- Assist with the prevention or relief of homelessness from a range of settings, including clients who are currently rough sleeping
- Help clients to access specialist support services as required (for example, advocacy services, tenancy support, equipment and adaptations)
- Source interim accommodation for clients when required
You must have…
5 GCSEs A-C grade or equivalent including English and Maths. Have an ability to multitask and work under pressure to meet deadlines with a high level of attention to detail. Able to work outside normal office hours.
