HGV Mechanic (Junior)          

EMG UK is looking for a highly motivated, hardworking HGV Mechanic (Junior) to assist in the maintenance of our busy fleet operation.  Based in the High Wycombe and Oxford area, the successful candidate will work with our experienced team to maintain our extensive fleet of television outside broadcast vehicles.
 

The HGV Mechanic (Junior) will:

• Ensure that all vehicle and trailer servicing and repairs are correctly carried out.
• Accurately complete job sheets and other inspection documentation as required.
• Carry out welding and fabrication work as necessary (training provided if required).
• Use workshop equipment in a correct manner.
• Contribute towards effective “preventative maintenance”.
• Correctly record the use of parts.
• Complete all work to a “right first time standard”.
• Prepare and submit vehicles to a standard appropriate for the issuing of an annual test certificate.
• Communicate accurately as to ‘Work in Progress’ and efficiently notifying the fleet office anticipated delays or issues.
• Ensure that knowledge is in line with modern technologies and developments applicable to the role.
• Ensure that good housekeeping standards are maintained at all times.
• Any other ad-hoc duties as required.

Due to the nature of our business, some out of hours and weekend work may be required.

Skills required

• IMI L3 Diploma in Heavy Vehicle Repair & Maintenance (or equivalent).
• Keenness to understand mechanics and associated electrics.
• Full UK Driving Licence (preferably with C+E).
• Understanding of vehicle maintenance requirements and procedures.
• Effective verbal and written skills, coupled with problem solving skills.
• Open willingness to undergo additional training.
