About the role: Part of the Legal & Assurance team of 8 professionals (at full complement) covering legal, governance & compliance and risk assurance within the Strategy and Business Services directorate.  We work collaboratively with all areas of the business to advise and direct and to ensure that we retain and build upon our strong governance and regulatory reputation. Although an established role, you will have the opportunity to shape how you work and what you deliver, bringing your own style and expertise to the fore. You will be responsible for Paradigm’s Risk Assurance function: delivering risk management, insurance and managing the internal audit programme. The role is supported by a Risk Assurance Officer and reports to the Director of Legal & Assurance, with key relationships with executive and non-executive senior management, therefore an in-depth knowledge of your subject matter and personal gravitas are key to this post.

You will work with the senior leaders and decision makers of a leading social housing provider; you’ll be part of the conversation into how to manage and best exploit the challenges and opportunities faced by our growing business. About you: We are looking for someone with great analytical and organisational skills who is a confident and competent presenter. A person who can survey the landscape and identify the opportunities and risks. Working with senior management via a mixture of office, remote and homeworking, you will be a confident communicator and a perceptive listener; able to translate the complex into concise and accurate output. With senior audiences to ‘bring to life’ what the implications might be for our business and recommend and implement appropriate actions for improvements and risk mitigation. The successful candidate will likely have experience in either risk management, internal audit and/or insurance. Your experience may have been gained within housing or another regulated sector, but this is not essential. Our ideal candidate will possess the right mix of experience and qualifications - such as a recognised risk management qualification or other professional qualification (eg Solicitor, Accountant, Company Secretary, Internal Auditor) with significant post qualification experience in risk management, or equivalent job-related knowledge and experience.
