Bayram Timber Ltd has recently been acquired and are now part of the BSW Group.  BSW Group has six main operating divisions, and are part of the largest sawmilling business in the UK, with a turnover of c. £370 million and a capacity to produce over 1.2 million cubic metres of sawn timber per year.

Due the exciting business growth, Bayram Timber are now looking for an experienced Finance Business Partner.

Bayram operate from one location in Melton, Hull with nearly 150 employees and have annaual sales of over £30 million.  A market leader with the capacity to produce 100,000m3 of machined and bespoke timber products annually to the UK caravan industry, leisure home and garden sectors.

This is a brand new role and therefore are some exciting projects to get involved in but mainly you will be responsible for analysing and controlling the financial performance.  The role will involve working with the commercial and operational teams to deliver financial gains to the business through customer margin improvements, effective cost control, and the successful delivery of profit improvement projects.

Day to day, you will be getting involved in a whole manner of activities, including:

  • Preparation and presentations of monthly Business Unit financials.
  • Business Unit performance and deviations.
  • Coordinating cross functional controlling processes and projects.
  • Annual budgeting.
  • Pricing work
  • Customer profitability analysis
  • Commercial activities (new customer reviews, renewal of existing customer contracts)
  • Control of capital employed and aged debt
  • Profit improvement initiatives
  • Daily, weekly and monthly reporting (sales & margin, forecasting, KPI’s)
  • Company rebates management
  • Costing & stock valuation
  • Manufacturing control and profit centre profitability
  • Developing manufacturing measurement systems.
  • Capex coordination

It goes without saying that you must be CIMA qualified, or have relevant experience without the qualification.  We also need someone with a strong manufacturing and operational accounting experience (or FMCG background).  Importantly, someone with experience of finance and business development at a senior level.  You will have a history of seeking out commercial opportunities and understand pricing structures, sales and product development and ideally have S&OP experience too. You must be a competent user of all Microsoft packages, including Excel and PowerPoint and additionally being a SAP user will be very advantageous.

This role has a number of direct reports, at junior levels, so you will need to have experience of people management and driving performance through your natural coaching and leadership style.

The working pattern would be Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm, we welcome early discussions around flexible working.  In return, you will join a truly brilliant and dedicated team of people. We are offering a competitive salary up to £45,000 in addition to the usual benefits of pension contributions, bonus scheme and life assurance.
