At Watford Community Housing, we provide vital services that help people to live better lives. We’re looking for an experienced Energy Assessor/Stock Condition Surveyor tosupport our Asset Managers in establishing and maintaining an up-to-date, accurate property database.
What’s the role?
As part of our Property Services team, you will use your technical skills to undertake energy performance assessments, stock condition surveys and various other property related inspections to help maintain a stock portfolio and develop bid data for future funding and programmes.
The right candidate will need the ability to effectively undertake all aspects of property inspections, having experience in taking a strategic approach to accurately collect, report and record information into the asset database. You’ll work effectively and proactively with colleagues to deliver a robust service. Being a qualified Retrofit Assessor would also be an advantage as there is an element of cross-working involved with our Greener Herts project.
What are we looking for?
We are looking for a qualified Energy Assessor, with at least two years’ experience in completing SAP Calculations, as well as some experience with Energy and Sustainability Statements. You will also need to be well experienced in undertaking property inspections, specifically stock condition surveys.
You will need to be customer-focused, with the ability to interact empathetically with a wide variety of people. You’ll have an excellent grasp of the current building regulations and relevant legislation with an understanding of how to supervise works on site to ensure compliance is followed. You will have a background in similar roles previously, and knowledge of the housing or construction sectors would be a distinct advantage.
- ONC/HNC in Construction, Property Management or Surveying
- Domestic EPC assessor qualification
- Experience of contract management NHF 7.1
- Experience of working in an asset management and/or maintenance field
- You will need to hold a UK driving licence with access to a suitable vehicle, with insurance cover for business use.
- You will need to maintain a satisfactory basic level DBS check.
- BSc (Hons) in Construction or Property Management
- Retrofit assessor/co-ordinator qualification
- Member of a relevant body such as Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors or Chartered Institute of Building
- Knowledge of the housing sector
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office including Excel
