Day Residential Childcare Worker
Location: Willow Vue Children's Home, 75 Crossley Street, Gorton, Manchester, M18 8BD - Fixed Based
Salary Range: Grade 6 £26,975 to £30,095 (Bar at £29,174) per annum/ pro rata, plus 10% Flexibility payment
Working Hours: 17.5 hours per week (Part time -job share) and 35 hours per week (full time) available: 70 hours or 140 hours over 28 day/4week rota, including earlies, lates, sleeps, weekends and Bank Holidays
Contract Type: Permanent, Full Time and Part Time available
Qualification: Diploma Level 3 in working with Children and Young People in Residential Care or its equivalent; Or be willing and able to undertake the Diploma Level 3 in working with Children and young people within 6 months of appointment

This is a role for a full time and part time (job share) Day Residential Child Care Worker to work within a 6 bedded residential children's home. We are looking for people who believe they have the qualities and skills needed to support our children and maintain stability. You will need to be emotionally and physically fit to work with young people age 11 - 17 who can be emotionally and physically challenging and have complex needs. You will need to be able to establish and maintain relationships with the young people to challenge their existing patterns of behaviour. You will create a culture and ethos within the home in which the needs of the young people are paramount, and they are encouraged to develop, mature and grow. In addition, you will work proactively with appropriate stakeholders to assess the individual’s needs and ensure positive outcomes.
You must hold a full driving licence to drive the homes vehicle and have 12 months experience of working with children, young people, and families. Have resilience, commitment to diversity and inclusion. Take personal responsibility for making things work well. Communication skills, problem solving and decision making skills. Analytical skills, planning and organising, excellent judgment skills, creative skills. ICT skills, ability to use multiple applications, systems and associated software packages. Administrative skills, ability to arrange and service complex meetings, preparing information, taking detailed notes and produce minutes from a wide range of meetings. Ability to develop and maintain effective systems in a rapidly changing environment.

This role is predominately fixed based. You will be required to work from specific locations. This could be because you use specialist equipment or because you work with the public from a fixed location. You may work from more than one fixed location and you would usually have a dedicated workspace or team area. Your hours and times of work may be more flexible depending on the type of role you have.
