A rare and exciting opportunity for someone with a genuine passion for Manchester to contribute to the sustainable growth and future of our city’s Parks, Leisure, Events and Youth services.

You will work collaboratively with both internal services and external partners to facilitate and achieve service objectives that maximise opportunities, investment and revenue generation across the Parks, Leisure, Event and Youth Estate. A key role is to ensure that the Service area's assets are used to help Manchester develop into a prosperous and sustainable city as well as developing value for money. This includes optimising new partnership and sponsorship opportunities for the use of Public Square and spaces, parks and playing fields, leisure assets and major public events.

In this role you will have the chance to explore creative and ambitious commercial work streams to maximise the opportunities for the service, whilst balancing the statutory, civic and community responsibilities and political sensitive issues within a local authority. We are looking for an enthusiastic, energetic, creative and committed individual who is able to identify commercial opportunities to deliver commercial growth from third parties. We are looking for an individual who can demonstrate a strong commercial acumen, the ability to lead and develop a team and can engage effectively with external stakeholders and organisations. You will have extensive experience of generating commercial opportunities and sponsorship funding.

This post is also subject to satisfactory references and other pre-employment checks where applicable.

As a blended worker, you may be able to work from home or remotely some of the time, or for certain tasks or limited days or hours. For the remainder of the time, you will be required to work at council sites or offices. This will depend on your role’s responsibilities and your personal circumstances.
