We are looking for someone who will provide technical support in the coordination of the service ensuring the assessment of new schemes is carried out to determine there is a strategic fit and they are maintainable in line with Council budgets.
The role holder will provide technical support to internal and external partners including: Planning and Building Control, Strategic Development, Neighbourhood Teams, GMP, Manchester Parking etc. They will support the team in ensuring the service has an awareness of funding opportunities via various government schemes including funding opportunities connected with DfT and TfGM etc. They will support the commissioning and preparation of bids for new funding.
We are looking for individuals ideally with a highways background and experience in dealing with contractors and stakeholders within a local government environment. You will also have excellent written and verbal communication skills and experience of being involved in the building of effective partnerships and working with managers and Elected Members.

The candidate must hold a minimum of a ONC / OND in Engineering with experience in Highways / Construction or a suitable other qualification with significant relevant experience
