Assistant Capital Accountant - FTC 3-6 months - Full or Part Time

The Vacancy

Working closely with the Head of Financial Accounting & Capital Accountant, accountabilities will include:

  • Ensure the transition is complete of the fixed asset register from Excel to Asset 4000.
  • Ensure that opening balances of Asset 4000 reconcile to the 31 March 2022 (year-end) fixed asset registers.
  • Support the Capital Accountant to ensure any in-year changes are fully processed in Asset 4000.
  • Work with the Capital Accountant to ensure that Asset 4000 produces the correct reports for calculations and postings of additions, disposals and depreciation.
  • Work with the Capital Accountant to ensure that Asset 4000 integrates with Sun (system) where practical.
  • Ensure that at the end of the project Asset 4000 reconciles to Sun.

Candidate Requirements

  • Qualified or part-qualified accountant (CIPFA/ACA/CIMA/ACCA)
  • Experience with Sun Accounting and/or Asset 4000
  • Experience of capital accounting
  • Knowledge and experience capital accounting preferably within housing, not for profit or the public sector
  • Available to start at short notice
