We are one of the few in-house waste collection services in Norfolk and proud to deliver a service of collection of refuse, recycling and garden waste to the 65,000 properties in the district.  This job involves managing the crews, organising the schedules, and ensuring every collection round goes out each day, as well as ensuring strict health and safety guidelines are adhered to.

What you’ll be doing…

You will be responsible, with the other Area Team Leaders, for managing the operational services at the depot to ensure they are customer focused, responsive, efficient, effective, meeting performance targets and ensuring we collect 72,000 bins each week, along with our other services.

You must have…

  • The ability to remain calm under pressure, delivering solutions quickly and efficiently.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Good communication skills – both verbal and written.
  • Track record of staff performance management in a diverse organisation
  • Ability to balance conflicting service demands against limited financial resources
  • Resilience to deal with a number of urgent issues at the same time

In addition, the following would be desirable:

  • Experience of health and safety in an operational environment
  • Experience of business planning and implementing service level improvements and change
  • Ability to work on own initiative to ensure services are maintained and continuously improved
