This role is suitable for a experienced administrator, or a role for a keen individual who may be looking to kickstart their career in HR and L&OD.

The purpose of this role is to provide an effective HR and L&OD administrative service in an efficient, professional and confidential manner. Working within the HR and L&OD Team, supporting the HR and L&OD Business Partner model to assist with the delivery of the team objectives and the organisation’s delivery plan.

Our HR and OD Team is a fast-paced team where we work closely with the organisation. In this role you will be part of a front line administrative team who are striving to deliver a first-class service. You will provide first line support to the organisation on routine activities and support the team on project work to assist on the delivery of the team objectives and organisational delivery plan.

What you’ll be doing…

  • Act as the first line of contact for all basic HR and L&OD queries, from a number of stakeholders, mainly internal managers and employees with occasional contact with members of the public and suppliers including but not limited to policies, systems and procedural queries and guidance, providing relevant advice to stakeholders where required
  • Manage the employee lifecycle process from start to finish including recruitment, onboarding, learning and development and offboarding, carrying out all of the administrative and practical duties as required. Seeking guidance from a senior member of the team where issues arise or legislative guidance is needed
  • Ensure compliance with council processes, policies and procedures including, but not limited to finance, performance, HR and L&OD, governance, health and safety, information management, data protection and equalities.
  • Any other appropriate duties to help the council meet its objectives.

You must have…

  • Educated to GCSE level including Maths and English at Grade 4/C or above
  • NVQ level 2 or above in Business Administration is or equivalent administrative experience in a similar or related role
  • Proven skill of working both independently and within a team
  • Experienced in dealing directly with customers professionally and confidently through a variety of channels, including verbal and written
  • Proven customer care skills and the ability to handle difficult customers to resolve issues, with the ability to identify when it needs escalating to a different member of the team
  • Evidence of well-developed administrative skills with the ability to operate a variety of IT systems at one time
  • Proven adaptability and willingness to multi-task, manage workloads and prioritise effectively across service areas, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail is maintained to a high level at all times

Interview date: 15 and 16 September 2022 - please note these interviews will be held in person, at South Norfolk House and the interview process will include formal interview questions and a practical assessment relating to basic administration skills.
